21 chairs was an exhibition organised by the Institute Architects Pakistan to raise funds to build houses for the under privileged communities. 40 architects, designers and artists collaborated to create 21 chairs for an exhibit and book launch, each representing the artists specific aesthetic.

When photographing the chairs for the book, I decided to approach the assignment as portraits of a chair rather than product photography. Through the use of minimalism and negative space in compositions I aimed to capture the essence of each chair - curves, lines, quirks and their behaviours eventually revealing the final chair in the last image.
